The European Union is currently Kazakhstan’s largest trade and investment partner. The total volume of investments from Europe to the country exceeded 175 billion dollars.
This was stated by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov at the 13th meeting of the “Kazakhstan-European Union” dialogue platform, Trend reports.
In particular, EU countries have invested more than $5.2 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy over the past 6 months.
The Prime Minister also said that the share of the European Union in Kazakhstan’s foreign trade is about 30%. According to the Prime Minister, the total volume of trade between the parties for 10 months exceeded 34 billion dollars. He noted that these indicators reflect a consistent course towards strengthening trade and economic cooperation.
Smailov added that currently more than 3 thousand European companies, including large multinational companies such as Shell, Eni, Air Liquide, Alstom and Claas, are successfully working in various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.
