Venezuelan National Assembly (Parliament) President Jorge Rodriguez on Friday unveiled the country’s new geographical map, which includes the 24th state of Guyana-Essekibo, located in the disputed territory with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
According to the report, the presentation in Parliament of the updated map with the new state was broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
The map is located in the Hall of Constitutions in the Federal Legislative Palace.
Earlier in the day, at a rally attended by thousands of people, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro signed and proclaimed the decree on the new geographical map of the country, showed it to demonstrators and recommended that it be taken to all schools, high schools and homes and “placed in a prominent place”.
