Ankara Center for Crisis and Political Studies (ANKASAM) International Relations Specialist Göktuğ Çalışkan commented on BRICS’ expansion strategy and the importance of the New Development Bank for Ulusal Kanal. In his assessment, Çalışkan said, “In the first place, a common currency needs to be created and made available. Even if this does not replace the dollar in the future, it can at least be brought to a level as important as the dollar.” Finally, Çalışkan said, “In response, the US and the Western front can be expected to take a different position and make a move.”
