President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke by phone with Russian Federation leader Vladimir Putin on December 11. The two sides discussed pressing issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations.
The issues of practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in May this year were thoroughly considered.
The two sides highly appreciated the results of the regular meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and bilateral talks held the previous day in Moscow.
They also stressed the importance of taking coordinated measures aimed at ensuring the growth of indicators of mutual trade turnover, accelerating cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, agriculture and other sectors, continuing active contacts at the level of regions and business organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia.
The sides also exchanged views on the international agenda and multilateral cooperation in regional organizations in the context of preparations for the forthcoming summits in late December this year.
