Venezuela is on the verge of joining BRICS and will provide the bloc with energy and mineral resources.
According to the Report, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said this in a speech at an international economic seminar in Caracas, broadcast by Venezolana de Television.
“In the new world, Venezuela is on the verge of joining the bloc of BRICS countries with its resources,” Rodriguez said, emphasising that “the world’s largest energy reserves are in Venezuela”. “With 3 million barrels of oil per day, there are enough reserves to last almost three centuries” and the world’s fourth largest natural gas deposits are in the process of certification, he noted. Rodriguez said the country also has deposits of iron ore, coal, gold and diamonds.
“The irreversible hour of building a new international order has arrived and we want to see how Venezuela will adapt to the new geopolitics,” Rodriguez said.
